CFPA EUROPE - International umbrella organisation for loss prevention

Since its foundation in 1974, the Confederation of Fire Protection Associations Europe (CFPA-E) has become the leading umbrella organisation for loss prevention. It focuses on fire protection, safety, risk management and natural hazards.

But what are the challenges facing fire safety in Europe? In an interview with BV Brandverhütung, Dr Elisabetta Carrea, President of the CFPA-E, gives an insight into the future of the industry.

Technological advances and new challenges

Fire safety in Europe is advancing thanks to new technologies and harmonised standards. But with these opportunities come challenges:

  • Sustainable solutions need to be increasingly integrated into fire protection.
  • Cyber security is playing an increasingly important role in security concepts.
  • Natural hazards and climate change require new risk management strategies.

Knowledge transfer and further training as a central pillar

Knowledge transfer is essential for effective loss prevention. This is why CFPA-E is increasingly focusing on training courses, seminars and certification programmes tailored to the needs of the industry.

There are also plans to expand digital learning platforms to make knowledge even more accessible. All training programmes are subject to rigorous quality control.

Why companies should become members of the CFPA-E

Membership provides companies and institutions with access to a network of experts, exclusive training and best practice. At the same time, members are expected to actively participate in knowledge sharing and contribute their expertise to committees and projects.

Shaping the future of fire protection together

The CFPA-E demonstrates that effective and sustainable fire protection is only possible through cooperation, innovation and targeted training. By pooling expertise and resources, standards can be continually improved and new solutions developed.
